"Reilly has used his songwriting skills as a method for teaching ecology and natural science. His CD includes 23 original songs with environmental themes that teach stewardship of the Huron River, the importance of planting and caring for trees and animals (including mosquitoes), and of the interconnection between all living creatures. The CD includes interviews with kids as they share what's important to them about the Earth and suggest simple things people can do to help support healthy ecosystems."

"Joe Reilly writes music with his eyes and heart.
He sees goodness and possibility where others see evil and gloom.
He feels the plight of the poor and downtrodden in his gut and values their humanity.
And in some talented and magical way, Joe puts these feelings,
hopes and observations to music which connects us not only to the musician but to the subjects of his music.
May we be open to the connections, and in the seeing and feeling may we all be better people.
I am proud that the St. Leo parish choir played a part in the making of this CD."

Mothers and Daughters' combines acoustic
folk, blues, and deep roots music, bringing traditional
Native American influences into a contemporary cultural,
political, and spiritual expression. Each song is an
original composition rooted in the earth by Joe Reilly's
pholky acoustic strumming and soulful voice while being
pulled to the cosmos by the spacial rhythms of percussionist
Jamie Rusling.
